What Does a School Bus Mechanic Do?

School bus mechanics maintain and repair the fleet vehicles that transport students daily. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines, servicing brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions, and ensuring all vehicles meet state and federal safety standards. Requirements & Licensing

A valid driver's license is required, and a CDL is preferred for test-driving repaired vehicles. Schedule & Work Environment
